Kirkliston Parish Church
Scottish Country Dance Club
The Country Dance Club’s aim is to promote country dancing to all ages with a friendly and social atmosphere. Our club has been running since October 1988 and we meet every Tuesday evening between September and April in the Thomas Chalmers Centre of Kirkliston Parish Church from 7.30pm until 9.30pm. This year our classes will commence on Tuesday 10th September.
We currently have a rota system of various teachers
We hold two dances each year, which are held in the Thomas Chalmers Centre in Kirkliston. Unfortunately it was decided to discontinue our annual Hogmanay Ceilidh due to lack of support.
The year we will be hosting an Autumn Dance on 16th November 2019 and a Spring Dance on 21st March 2020. There will also be a dance following our AGM on 14th April 2020. Details for these will be published on the Events page when information becomes available.
Please note that due to the Coronavirus situation, we have decided to cancel all classes and events following the club night on Tuesday, 17th March 2020. We hope to resume on 8th September 2020.
Kirkliston Scottish Country Dance Club celebrated our 30th Anniversary on 20th October 2018 with an Anniversary Dance in the Thomas Chalmers Centre. It was a super evening with great music and a lovely meal. Our former teacher, Mrs Margaret Masterton, who inaugurated the club, was invited to cut the cake and was presented with a beautiful bouquet.
We welcome new members who have a knowledge of Scottish country dancing and all enquiries can be made to Suzanne Kidd on 01506 854325
